Greetings, fellow traveler. Have you ever struggled with importing spritesheet assets into Godot ? Perhaps you are looking into it and stumbled upon this blog post ?

If so, then welcome! This week I decided to search for a set or two (or four) of assets I could use as a starting point in NanoSwarm: Dominion, struggled with the importing process and managed to surpass my difficulties and create an example of a simple city in isometric style

Devlog#0 Journey To Create Nanoswarm

Greetings, fellow traveler. Do you happen to play strategy games ? Enjoy theory-crafting the perfect build in a roguelite game ? Perhaps a developer looking for ideas for your own projects ?

Whatever the case, welcome! This is the first of - hopefully - many blog posts about my progress on creating NanoSwarm: Dominion.

In this devlog series, I am planning on writing about using Godot to craft this game dev project, what I’ve learned so far and, every so often, try to showcase and explain a given concept or component that allowed me to solve some problem along the way.

Selfhost Project Here

I’m Leonardo Domingues, a backend engineer passionate about building scalable, event-driven systems that function just right.

By day, I architect services and solve integration challenges; by night, I’m a theory crafter — exploring software architecture patterns, tinkering in my home lab, and tackling creative challenges just because they sound interesting.

I thrive on turning complex problems into elegant solutions, whether refactoring an underperforming monolith or adding an audio visualizer to my browser at 2 AM (it sounded cool at the time AND it looked cool, ok ?).
